Using SQL for repository searches provides the ability to perform powerful searches, such as:
- Complex search patterns (multiple wildcards)
- Complex AND/OR combinations, vs. “all conditions must be met” or “any condition must be met”
- Retrieving records with code set description changes
- Searches on linked repositories beyond one link away, such as many-to-many
- Searches including external tables, such as InfoLink
