About this course

The EnterWorks data model can be migrated from one environment to another using the Migrate Out/Migrate In tool. When performing a Migrate Out, the user must select the desired objects to be migrated. It is easy to inadvertently omit dependent objects that are not discovered until running the Migrate In tool on the target system. When the Migrate Out tool is run, a Migration Specification File is created that lists the objects selected for migration. This file can be selected in subsequent Migrate Out operations to migrate the same set of objects or to use it as a starting point to alter what objects are being migrated. Through the use of the new SQL Stored Procedure "GenerateMigrationSpecifications", a Migration Specification File can be generated that includes all objects connected to a specific set of repositories. This specification file can then be selected in the Migrate Out utility to be the starting point for generating the migration file. This session provides details on the Migration Specification File and how to use the stored procedure in migrating the objects for a specific set of repositories. This session is intended for the EnterWorks Administrator User Role.
