EnterWorks - ETT 106 - How to Generate a CN_Log Report with Current Repository Data Using Templates

The Change Notification Reports can be used to generate reports that combine the change data with current repository data, without having to define and maintain complex SQL queries.  However, there are several limitations with the Change Notification Reports:

• The CN_Log and change repository data cannot be transformed in the export (such as changing a code to text)
• Attributes in Repositories linked to the change repository cannot be included in the export
• Numeric attributes from the change repository cannot be included in the export (temporary issue to be addressed in future EnterWorks release)

The above limitations can be overcome by using a View Scheduled export to generate the desired output, but the resulting SQL can be quite complex. An alternative is to link the CN_Log repository to each change repository and define Syndication Templates (if transformations are required) or Export Templates (if only needing to include multiple linked repository data).  If the resulting template is invoked from a Delta Scheduled export, a regular change report can be generated.  This provides details on how.
