About this course

The Enterworks.properties file primarily defines properties used by the functional components known as the Services Framework.  The master Enterworks.properties file, which is found in the <drive>:\Enterworks\EPX\bin\conf folder was originally installed by the EnterWorks Installer.  As functional capabilities were added to the Services Framework and new properties added to the Enterworks.properties file, the version installed by the product installer (and existing environments) may not have these properties.

The Installation and Upgrade documentation contains steps to use the master copy of the Enterworks.properties file included in the Services Framework deployment package to update the deployed version of the file to ensure all properties are defined.  This has proven to be a tedious and error-prone task, often resulting in one or more properties not being defined or incorrectly defined.

A PowerShell script has been created that will automatically merge the two properties files, producing one with the environment-specific values and any missing property defined and in a specific order, allowing the files for different services or environments to be more-easily compared.  This session describes in detail how to use the PowerShell script to ensure all properties are defined in each copy of the file.
