EnterWorks - ETT 142 - How to Migrate Groups Without Affecting Security

When migrating a Group from one environment to another, the security for any objects associated to that group will also be migrated.  There are some situations where it is desirable to leave the existing security intact but updating the settings for a Group.  There is currently no ability within the EnterWorks UI to selectively control whether any security is migrated with the group, so the only way to update the settings in the group without affecting security would be to manually edit the Group in the target environment. 

However, by altering the generated migration ZIP file contents before importing the migration file, the security for the Group in the target system can be left intact, or it can be selectively updated on the associated securable objects. 

This session provides details on the Group migration objects and their security settings and how they can be updated to retain some or all the existing security settings in the target environment.
